Hot Pots, Museum Raids, and the Race to Uncover Asia’s Archaeological Past

You may be interested in a talk that Dr. Joyce White, Executive Director of ISEAA, will be giving in Philadelphia on March 29, 2014. The presentation is a behind-the-scenes look at recent archaeological research in Laos, as well as recent investigations by the US Justice Department into the smuggling of looted antiquities from Southeast Asia, one of the largest legal cases of this kind to date. All donors who contribute to ISEAA by December 31, 2013 will receive an invitation to the talk and the reception to follow. This event is sponsored by the Association of Asian Studies, the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) and the Henry R. Luce Foundation in celebration of the Luce/ACLS Initiative for East and Southeast Asian Archaeology.
